Only one week left before the release of Angel 1089! The folks at RT Book Reviews were so kind as to review it.

I'm so pleased! It got 3 stars which by their scale means "Enjoyable. A pleasant read." The reviewer also said: "Bridges has created a believable world of technologically advanced mega-corporations that dominate daily life shaping perceptions of morality and ethical behavior to their whims and ideology. The author’s characters are equally strong in this story, particularly Jeff Werth and the supporting character Trixie the dog."

She liked the dog!

More than that, I am really happy that the world was believable and that she liked the characters. Those are two things I've really worked on in my writing.

You can read an excerpt of Angel 1089 over at Samhain's site.

And stay tuned for some contests and a giveaway on release day:)

Hey guys! Angel 1089 is now on the coming soon page over at Samhain's website!

The blurb:

Catching two demon burglars is routine for Gabriel 1089, who’s one cog in an army of cybernetically modified humans protecting the sky city of Heaven. Until two turns into a twenty-demon ambush. When he wakes up, he’s missing his network-enabled halo—and one of his metal wings.

The down-level junk dealer tending Gabe’s wounds has hands that spark nerve endings he never knew he possessed. But for an angel cut off from Heaven, an attic in Old Trent feels more like a trap than a sanctuary.

Demons on his doorstep are nothing new for Jeff Werth. Ever since they saved his daughter’s legs, they’ve been calling in their marker. In exchange for his services—nursing Gabe back to health so they can use him as a pawn in their war with Heaven—they’ll consider the debt paid in full. Except having a powerless angel at his mercy feeds a rising desire that has him rethinking the deal.

Then the de-haloed Gabe begins having dreams that become visions…then memories. Until he’s not sure whose side he’s on. Heaven, or the simple family man who healed his broken wings…and made his heart whole.

Just wanted to give everyone an update. I just signed the contract with Samhain for the cyberpunk novel. It will be out this fall!

I'll let everyone know more as soon as the information becomes available. I'm really excited about this work. It's the longest piece I've written for publication and I'm in love with the universe I've created.

Just wanted to post a quick little update. I just finished an m/m cyberpunk novella and have it out on submission. If it gets picked up I'll be sure to let you know:) I'm kind of excited about it, since it's the longest original work I've completed so far. It's a bit darker than Beyond Meridian but still filled with fun characters and some hot scenes.

I made myself a soundtrack to listen to while I wrote, and I wanted to share the songs, in case anyone was interested. At the very least you can see my wacky music taste:)

My writing soundtrack )

Any guesses on what the story is about just based on the music?

Torquere is having a great half-price off print books sale, but only until tomorrow, July 5th.

And you can snag Shifting Them for half the price! Which is great because the sequel to Sleeping Dogs, my story in that anthology, comes out next month!

I can't believe I haven't updated since February! Sorry about that.

I have been busy writing though.

I got the chance to review Other Magical Creatures. I always love the chance to write reviews. I get to see the stories before anyone else does! It makes me feel special:)

Also, I just received word on an acceptance of a short story, the sequel to "Sleeping Dogs" which appeared in the Shifting Them anthology. I love this universe, and I hope to write more in it soon!

I'll update when I have more information about the anthology!

*back to work* I have two more short stories in progress and one half-written novella.

I usually read reviews while hiding behind my hands, much like I watch horror movies. I'd hate to read someone didn't like something I'd written, but I'm a firm believer in staying out of commenting on review blogs, so I'd just suffer in silence.

I don't have to do that this time, I got a very nice nod at Literary Nymphs for my story "Kitten's Ribbons" which is available in the "Down the Chimney" anthology. I'm thrilled, especially since that story is my favorite out of everything I produced last year.

And that won't be the last for Cooper, Jason and Lexi, I have hopefully two more stories in the works. *gets to writing*
